Kristina & Anthony: A Modern Classic

Where to begin with this fairytale… When I met Kristina and Anthony for the first time, we had an instant connection. They had faith in my abilities as a designer more than I could imagine! We set to work on a classic wedding with a modern, metro twist. The moment I saw Kristina’s dress – I knew this wedding would stun. The Oasis Conference Centre set the stage for the perfect ceremony, followed by a formal reception at the Crowne Plaza Chateau Lacombe Alberta Ballroom. Show-stopping decor from Elegant Touches, and a custom vinyl monogram above the head table from Pink Polka Design, created a warm and inviting ambience. DJ Kwake had the dance floor moving all night long, and Fuss cupcakes were a huge hit. Special thanks to Vibe Photo Booths for the excellent entertainment, and to Johwanna and Darren at tobeinpictures for capturing this day perfectly! What really moved me, was Anthony’s undying commitment to ensuring his bride felt loved, precious, and unique on their special day. I absolutely loved spending time with this couple!

Kelly & Kyle – Celtic Cool

Kelly and Kyle are true athletes – Ironman competitors! They found me through another wonderful couple (Kathleen & Devin – Winter Glam!) and were so wonderful to work with. They have the most generous, kind hearts… and while we only had a short time to get to know each other, they’ve inspired me in so many ways. It was an honour to coordinate their wedding day and bring to life the finer details. Big thanks to Keri Lynn Zwicker and the “Edmonton Celtic Collection” for the unbelievable entertainment… to the Marriott River Cree, Harm of www.Harmsphoto.com for sharing these fantastic photos with everyone, Sarah Kumar for the great GLUTEN-FREE cake, and CJ Chair Covers for all their help!

Crystal & Bill – Decadence & Dueling Pianos

Bill & Crystal had one major detail in mind for their wedding day – they wanted a massive party… finger food and drinks all night and the best entertainment around. Somewhere in there, we needed a ceremony, some fabulous flowers and an acreage after-party!
It was one of the greatest experiences of my wedding planning career, and I loved every single moment of the design process with this couple. It is impossible not to adore them. Dueling pianos brought the entire event together with unforgettable entertainment. The end result was a drama-free, two day affair to rival Hollywood! Big thanks to Tegmentum for the Dueling Piano team, The Hotel Macdonald, Iawar.com Photography for these stunning pictures, Swish Flowers, Elegant Touches, Piano Moments, Pink Polka Design, and Mike Ormerod for the video guestbook. And a special thank you to Crystal and Bill… for a truly unforgettable wedding!

Lisa & Korey – A Vintage Garden

What a beautiful day! As a wedding designer, you always envision your scheme and look forward to bringing it to life… but this vintage-inspired wedding was everything we planned for… and more! Korey and Lisa wanted a fun party with special, personal touches; from moustaches on sticks and feather hair pins to carefully selected apothecary jars and custom, hand-drawn invitations. After nearly two years, it was a true honour to see these high school sweethearts tie the knot!  This couple has the kind of connection that warms your heart.
A special thanks to Sheryl from Swish Flowers for her always incredible array of flowers, www.popikphotography.com for the fantastic photos, and Linda Lindemann for her vintage decor.

Stephanie & Jonathan – Swept Away

When you meet while cruising the open seas… it’s only fitting you add a little nautical “splash” to your wedding. I guided Stephanie and Jonathan from afar while they they worked aboard a luxury cruise line. They both had a very specific ambience they wanted to achieve – and I think we certainly did that! It was a meaningful, intimate, sweet celebration, and I was honoured to be part of it all. Further accolades go to: Susan and her team at the Crowne Plaza, Candice at www.popikphotography.com, Dan at Baseline Services, Dr. Music, Sarah Halladay’s Cakes, River City Event Rentals and the Litven/Brown families! More photos to come!

Stacey & Rob – An Urban Fiesta!

Stacey and Rob Wing exchanged vows under a glorious Mexican sun – 8 months ago! But something was missing. They really wanted to share their wedding joy with friends and family here at home. With only a few weeks to spare, we designed a party to reflect their urban style and passion for life. Never before have I met a couple which believes so wholeheartedly in the power of positivity!

With that attitude, we were beyond fortunate to secure the sought-after Art Gallery of Alberta, which is typically booked solid! The gorgeous, modern backdrop set the stage for a fantastic fiesta of food, salsa dancing and artistry.

A big thanks to Walter Tychnowicz for the photos, ETOWN Salsa, Baseline Services, Denean Dale Makeup Artistry, and everyone involved in bringing together a great party!

Kathleen & Devin – Winter Glam!

Kathleen White and Devin Nicoll wanted a winter wonderland that reflected their love of the mountains and outdoors…
I was so pleased to oversee their vision on their February wedding day! The Nicolls are truly a laid-back couple with beautiful hearts…
Big thanks to Andrea Brown of Browns Photography for the gorgeous pictures… also to Sheryl at Swish Flowers, Dan at Baseline Services and Travis Minor at the Glenora.

Lisa & Dru – A Twist on Tradition

I was given the opportunity to assist the talented Candice Popik, www.popikphotography.com, with second photography (not an easy task – good thing she’s amazing!) at an old friend’s wedding! Dru and Lisa are by far one of the most fun couples I’ve ever worked with – they needed so little direction! Only TWO of these shots are mine, but I wanted to share!
Cheers!

Amanda & Andrew – Sweet & Serene

GORGEOUS! Amanda and Andrew have had the busiest year of any bride and groom I’ve met – but all the stress was left behind for this wonderful wedding. They are so perfect for each other – and so easy-going! And I am just blown away by her bridesmaids and parents… just phenomenal people! BIG thanks to Tracy and Charity from www.tobeinpicures.com, and Johwanna Alleyne for the amazing photos, collage and video. Also, kudos to Swish Flowers and Sheryl Qureshi, Whimsical Cakes, Elegant Touches, The Paper Tree, Perugia and Diamond Sound.

Ali & Ryan – A Natural Connection

Sometimes you meet people who change who you are and who you want to be. Ali and Ryan are two of those people. They are such a fun, kind… generous couple! After a perfect tent ceremony, we brought the natural setting of Blackhawk Golf Club into the Clubhouse with lots of beautiful greenery and delicate wild flowers. Special touches, such as a cheese cake (literally, CHEESE!) and party shoes for all, really showcased Ali and Ryan’s easy-going personalities. Candice Popik (www.popikphotography.com) perfectly captured the day – this gorgeous pair could be in a magazine spread! Thanks to The Paper Tree, Elegant Touches and of course, Mirella Boddy and Exec. Chef Andrew Fung at Blackhawk.
